In updating and standardizing their weighing equipment, American Airlines in Fort Worth, Texas has undergone installation and training for Intercomp low-profile platform scales for the narrow and wide-body aircraft in their fleet.

Continuing the long supplier relationship with SIA Engineering dating back to 1996, SIA Engineering (Philippines) has undergone installation and training for Intercomp low-profile platform scales for narrow and wide-body aircraft.  

In this example, SAAB AB performed weighing of aircraft prior to and during flight test campaigns, taking advantage of the wide range of capabilities Intercomp platform scales offer in commercially available scales.

The city of Seattle recently showcased the latest technology and trends in Commercial Vehicle Enforcement including Intercomp’s portable Weigh-In-Motion system.  These systems consist of two scales, roll-out ramps, and an indicator that allows them to be transported and deployed where weigh stations don’t exist.

Intercomp recently partnered with Puerto Cortés in Honduras for the installation of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems.  The integrated systems are monitoring vehicle and container weights for Method 1 SOLAS compliance at the gate of the port complex.   

The Florida DOT had a static weight enforcement site out of commission, so they utilized portable scales for static, in-ground use.  LS630 portable scales were deployed at a permanent weigh station to gather legal (static) weights for multiple weeks, allowing for weight enforcement with the NTEP approved scales and weighing indicator.

Measuring force applied when recovering or de-bogging an aircraft requires ensuring the aircraft components aren’t overstressed during the process. With Intercomp tension link dynamometers, pulling force is measured so that operators can be sure they are operating within the allowed force range.

With SOLAS Chapter VI Verified Gross Mass (VGM) regulations coming into effect July 1st, 2016, port and terminal operators are working quickly to implement solutions that would minimize disruption to their operations.

Overweight containers have been an issue for years, so in order to make vessel stowage planning more efficient and safer, SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) rules requiring a Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of containers  prior to the containers being loaded onto ships have been issued. These requirements protect the terminal operator employees as well as the vessel and its cargo, and go into effect July 1, 2016.
