eVTOL Scales Description
An electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft is a variety of VTOL aircraft that uses electric power to take off and land vertically and to hover. This technology emerged due to advances in electric propulsion and the growing need for new vehicles for air mobility. Since the concept of eVTOL aircraft emerged in 2009, there has been a significant increase in interest among aircraft manufacturers for eVTOLs. Because aircraft weights have a dramatic effect on lift, propulsion, control (pitch, roll, yaw), and battery longevity, weight and balance procedures are a critical part of any development program. About one-third of the gross weight consists of just the airframe. While just a prototype, the engineers will try to find any weight savings they can muster. This translates to increased payload, passengers or longer flight duration.
