Lockheed Martin’s U-2 Program Using Intercomp Aircraft Platform Scales photo
Minneapolis, MN –Intercomp is pleased to announce the order of AC15-LP platform scales for Lockheed Martin’s Palmdale, California location.  This adds to Intercomp scale systems in use at other Lockheed Martin locations in California, Colorado, Texas, Georgia, and New York.  The fully electronic, certified intrinsically safe AC15-LP low profile platform scales provide the high level of reliability and performance demonstrated by Lockheed Martin’s venerable U-2 program.

Used in both civilian and military missions, the “U-2 Dragon Lady” airframe has undergone continuous improvement and modification to arrive at today’s U-2S performance characteristics.  With an improved GE F118 powerplant, the U-2S has an increased payload and service ceiling of over 70,000 ft (21,000m), underscoring the importance of weight and balance for airframe development, manufacturing, and deployment.  The aircraft is actively deployed in NASA high-altitude experimentation, and aerial electronic and ground surveys in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As the manufacturer of the equipment most widely used by airlines, MROs, and airframe manufacturers in the world, Intercomp continues to provide state-of-the-art, fully electronic aircraft weight and balance equipment unmatched in quality, performance, and support.
