Minneapolis – Reigning NHRA Pro Stock Champion Erica Enders drove her Elite Motorsports Chevy Camaro to the win at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, beating 2017 class champion Bo Butner in the final pairing. With teammate Jeg Coughlin, Jr. wining the season-opening event at Pomona, Elite is two-for-two in the win column during 2020. In both events this year, Coughlin began the elimination rounds as the No. 1 qualifier with Enders starting third and second, respectively, in the first two races.Like many top-level racing organizations around the world, Elite Motorsports, supported by RJ Race Cars/Quarter-Max, trusts Intercomp products for the most accurate weight and measurement data in motorsports. The team uses RFX™ Wireless racing scales, Intercomp Digital Air Gauges, and other equipment to keep their racecars performing their best. Input from this team, and other organizations, continues to keep Intercomp at the forefront as one of the world’s premier manufacturers of motorsports measurement equipment.
“Congratulations to Erica, Jeg and the entire Elite Motorsports Team. We value the opportunity to work with and gather important product input from industry leaders like Elite Motorsports and RJ Race Cars on our Scales, Precision Digital Air Gauges and Measurement Tools,” Intercomp General Manager of Marketing Aaron Van Heel said. “Elite Motorsports, led by Richard Freeman is committed to excellence at every level. That mindset is the same approach that we continue to promote at Intercomp, which results in quality products and service that exceed the expectations of our customers.”
With the team sweeping the pole position and race win at the first two events, Elite Motorsports looks to be picking up where they left off after 2020’s championship campaign. Enders and Coughlin have proven to have what it takes to take home another season-long title, owning a combined eight championships since 2000 – one more than current teammates Greg Anderson and Jason Line over that same period. Enders, especially, has the most recent history of championship success, scoring the most drivers’ titles – three – in the last decade.
“We tested in Tuscan on Wednesday, so coming in we were definitely optimistic and finally got our act together for that one run on Saturday,” Enders said. “The guys gave me a tremendous race car today. Very consistent, very fast and we just crushed the competition today and it was really fun.”
